Hike to Wochenbrunner Alm

Description

You start this hike at the hiking information in the village. The Wochenbrunnweg now runs across the 27-hole golf course, past farmhouses and up through the forest and through the new Spatlahner Gorge. Why "Spatlahner-Klamm(Gorge)"? Spat = late, Lahn = avalanche.

After about one and a half hours you have reached the Wochenbrunn Alm with a large panoramic terrace at 1,085 m. The excursion restaurant is especially popular for families: at the game reserve with deer, roe deer and mountain goats, children get very close to the otherwise shy Alpine animals, while parents enjoy the magnificent view. The Ellmauer Steinkreis, an energetic, self-contained natural force field on the Wilder Kaiser, can be reached in about 20 minutes from the Wochenbrunner Alm.

Path surface
The composition of the trail varies from road to hiking trail, gravel path to forest trail.
Recommended equipment
Rucksack, hiking/mountaineering boots, hiking gear (breathable), change of clothes, sun protection (sunglasses, sun cream, headgear), waterproofs, cold protection (gloves and hat), water bottle, food for eating on the way, hiking poles if desired, first aid kit, plastic bag for waste, hiking map/route description (gpx track).

Arrival by car
Heading from Wörgl or Kufstein on the B178 road, take the first exit to Ellmau and then take the first exit at the roundabout. Drive along the bypass, then turn towards the centre of Ellmau when you reach the end (between MPreis and the Sporthotel). Continue straight on until you see the Tourist Information Office on the right-hand side (short-stay parking zone). The hiking starting point is located opposite this on the left-hand side. Heading from St. Johann on the B178 road, take the first exit to Ellmau and drive straight on through the town until you see the Tourist Information Office on the right-hand side (short-stay parking zone). The hiking starting point is located opposite this on the left-hand side.
